Covid-19 has bought some changes to the way we do things here at Thames Medical Centre. Since The Government announced the Level 4 Lockdown we have implemented strategies to help keep you, and us safe through this unsettling time. We are now offering virtual/phone consultations with all of our GPs. This means that you can still have a full consultation with our doctors, while keeping yourself and them safe from a distance. If you require a face-to-face consultation, this can be arranged in consultation with our nurses where appropriate. We are still running our triage clinic both in person and over the phone to help you with your acute needs as they arise, just phone to speak to one of the nurses for an appointment. We ask that you please phone before coming to the practice, even if for an acute matter. This is vitally important to ensure the safety of yourself and others, and keeps the number of people in our waiting room to a minimum. We are limiting this to ensure safe social distancing is possible while you wait for your appointment. We are still processing prescriptions, and will be faxing these to the pharmacy of your choice to avoid you having to come into the practice unnecessarily.
Our nurses are still completing essential procedures such as immunisations, sexual health consultations, medication administration and removal of sutures. We are also administering the flu vaccine to high priority groups currently, this includes those over 65, pregnant women, those with chronic health conditions and frontline healthcare workers. The flu vaccine will be available for everyone else from mid-April. If you have any queries, you are always welcome to speak to one of our friendly team by calling 078689444.
